Term 2

Term 2 is off to a flying start! We have been working hard together as a class and are continuing to form strong friendships with our classmates.

We have been reading everyday and have continued to learn about the sounds letters make.

We will be practising our fundamental movement skills in sport with Ms Sturgess on Wednesdays. This term we are also studying the unit ‘Communicate and Care’ for the key learning area Personal Development and Health.

In Science this term we will be learning about forces and how they make objects move. In History we will be looking at how families are different and the different ways they celebrate.

HOMEWORK

Homework will continue with sight word practice and home reading which needs to be returned for marking on Fridays. This term we are including an additional homework task which will help your child reinforce the sounds they need to make words. This does not need to be returned to school, however each week it will be built upon so keep the letters in a safe place to reuse throughout the rest of the term.

AFTER SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS

If your child is catching the bus home or to after school care, or they have other afternoon arrangements, could you please send me a note so that there is no confusion or anxiety at afternoon pick up.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Kindergarten can get messy, we would greatly appreciate it if each family could donate a box of tissues and a packet of baby wipes for use in the classroom. Don’t forget a paint shirt or old t-shirt for your child to keep at school to protect their uniform during messy activities. Library bags are required for your child to borrow a book from the library (a plastic bag will suffice).

A reminder that our Library Day has changed from Thursday to Friday.

Now that we have moved into colder weather and students are wearing jumpers to school, please ensure names are clearly marked on them.

Should you need to contact me for any reason please call or email the school office and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
