Welcome back to Term 3!
What an exciting term we have planned.
This term in English, we will continue to have a strong focus on Phonological Awareness, Phonic Knowledge, Spelling, Handwriting, Vocabulary and Grammar. We will also be focussing on persuasive and imaginative writing throughout the term.
Other Key Learning Area focusses for this term include:
Geography – where we will explore Features of Places
PDHPE – which will include our Child Protection Unit, Fundamental Movement Skills and Tennis (from week 6)
Creative Arts – Visual Art and Dance
A note on home reading:
Students are encouraged to read every night, however, to reach 40 nights home reading students only need to read 4 nights per week.
Home reading is an important focus for our school, and it would be very much appreciated if parents and caregivers could please encourage students to be reading at home each morning/night.
We have fantastic incentives for students and families to help ensure participation in our home reading program.
Students can write in their own logs to record the date and which books they have read – and only need a signature from a parent/caregiver.
We are looking forward to a fulfilling and fun term of learning!
