We would like to welcome Jayden, Charlotte and Phoenix not only to 2-6L but to Wyoming Public school, we are so excited that you have joined our class!
We have already had some fun events so far this term, with our Swimming Carnival being enjoyed for years 3-6.
This term in maths we have been looking at different ways to represent data such as picture graphs, tally graphs and bar graphs. Students have also been practicing counting up and counting backwards.
As part of 2-6Ls fitness this term students have delighted in learning how to play Boccia with Miss Hurst, who will also be picking some students across our support classes to represent our school.
As part of our literacy program students in 2-6L are enjoying reading Nim’s Island and are very interested in learning about the different animals and activities that take place in the story.
Students have been working hard this term on improving their reading, writing and listening skills. This includes daily reading groups, writing activities, sight word lists and phonics practice.
This year a big focus of Wyoming Public School is reading, we are focusing on trying to increase student’s participation in our home reading program. Make sure to sign and date your child’s reading card every time you’re reading, this can be a PM reader from school or a book at home.
There are new reading goals and awards for this year. Keep an eye out for information on our special prizes for our students who reach 40 nights each term!
If you have any questions feel free to email or ring the school
