Welcome to the 3-6S Web Page

Goodbye term 2, hello term 3! We had so many highlights in term 2, it will surely be hard to top but we will try.

We got off to a cracking start for term 2 with the school colour run, which was so much fun. Even the rain could wash away the fun, in fact I would say it added to it. The winner for term 2 events was definitely our stage 3 camp to Dubbo, where we did lots of learning and made lifelong memories. For many of us, this was our first time away from home. We also participated in public speaking and gymnastics. In weekly sport we practiced high jump, long jump, shot put and discus for our upcoming athletics carnival, which will take place this term. We finished off the term on a high with fantastic NADIOC Day celebrations and the anticipation of our newly renovated classroom.

This term is set to provide an abundance of excitement, despite term 2 sounding hard to top. We have already started participating in tennis on Friday mornings. We are lucky enough to participate in a sports program at school run and funded by Special Olympics Australia, this will be Monday mornings. Later in the term we will also attend ‘Variety Activate Sports Inclusion Day’ which will be held at Woy Woy (we will provide more details closer to this date).

Inside the classroom this term will be astronomically fun! It’s all about ‘Space’. Our Science topic this term was the inspiration for our book study “Give me Some Space” by Philip Bunting. We have so many literacy, Art and Science lessons planned it’s sure to be out of this word. For Math we will continue with building on our additive and multiplicative strategies as well as working with money and understanding time.
