Getting to and from school safely

Getting your child to and from school is your responsibility – however your child's school wants this to happen safely every day.

For parents and carers of younger children

Discuss with your child how to be safe when:

Also talk about and practise:

  • safe travel routes
  • plans for when unexpected things happen
  • what to do in wet weather.

Bike Safety

Students of our school are able to ride bikes to school.  Students in Years Kindergarten to Year 2, must be accompanied by an adult, and their bike must be taken home for the duration of the school day. (To prevent children from taking their bikes home in the afternoon without parent/adult supervision).

Students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are able to ride bikes to school, without the escort of a parent, provided their bikes are roadworthy (working brakes).

Students who ride bikes are to ride directly to and from home and school. They are to wear bicycle helmets in accordance with road safety rules.
