Week 1 Term 3
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Thank you for following the advice of NSW Health by abiding by the stay at home orders. We understand the additional strain this has placed on you and are grateful for the respect you have shown to the health of our staff and their families.
Included in the list below you will find packages of work. The intention of these packages is not to cause undue pressure on families during what is already a stressful time. Please use your discretion when deciding how much work your child can complete and what time of day is most suitable for them to engage in learning. Remember that your number 1 role is as a parent and if your child has good attendance (when schools are re-opened) any lost learning time will be quickly made up.
Please do not expect that your child will be able to concentrate on their schoolwork for the regular class hours of 9am-3pm. A normal school day involves lots of “breaks” including social interactions and other disruptions. If you manage 1 – 2 hours of learning from home per day you are doing a great job!
Reading a book with your child, kicking a ball outside, cooking a meal together or talking to your child in an age appropriate way about world events are all great learning experiences to embrace during this time.
Last of all remember to be kind to yourself - you are doing the best that you can!
