Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Creative arts at Wyoming Public School

Wyoming provides many opportunities for our students to express their creative talents.

Dance group

The dance group performs at Laycock St Theatre in the annual Central Coast Dance Festival. Students practise during lunch times and during sport.

Choir

Wyoming Public School choir is open to all students. Our choir participates in a variety of school and community performances during the year including NAIDOC, Daffodil Day, ANZAC ceremonies, International Women's Day Expo and the Central Coast Choral Festival (CCCF) which occurs every two years.

Musical instruments

Wyoming Public School recently updated its musical instruments. We have been fortunate enough to purchase a class set of ukuleles and a wide variety of percussion instruments such as ukuleles, Boomwhackers, drums, djembes and glockenspeils. Teachers are using these instruments to deliver engaging class activities for students.

Operation art

Students are given the opportunity to enter a piece of their own original artwork into the Wyoming Public School Operation Art Exhibition. Staff, students and parents vote for their favourite K-2 and 3-6 artworks and the winners are entered into the State Final.

Showcase and talent quest

Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents at our end of year showcase and talent quests. Students can be selected to participate in various performance pieces including, singing, dancing and drama.
