What students learn
Students learn a wide range of subjects in the NSW curriculum. They build skills, think creatively and prepare for life beyond school.
At Wyoming Public School, students can take part in special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) classes. These classes are delivered by approved providers.
The SRE and SEE options for students at at our school include
Catholic
Provided by Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.
The Catholic SRE curriculum is approved by the Bishop of the Diocese in liaison with religious education experts. Lessons include activities that are fun and inclusive for students, whilst also providing them the opportunity to critically explore in depth their faith and to pray and reflect.
Combined Christian
Provided by Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, Australian Christian Churches, Baptist Union of NSW, Churches of Christ in NSW and ACT, Liberty Family Church Inc and Presbyterian Church of Australia in NSW.
The curriculum is based on Good News about Jesus Christ and learning the key elements of our Christian life and culture. Christian SRE engages students in conversations as they question life, explore values and discover faith.
Special Education in Ethics
Provided by Primary Ethics.
Students practise and improve skills in critical thinking and ethical reasoning to develop a life-long capacity to make well-reasoned decisions, discussing age-appropriate ethical issues with peers in classes impartially led by trained volunteers.
Special Education in Ethics Curriculum
When enrolling your child, you’ll be able to choose an option from the approved providers offered at our school. Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities (AMA). This could include reading, private study or completing homework.
You’re welcome to change your choice at any time. Just let us know in writing or come and see our friendly office staff.
