Welcome Back 1S!
Is it really Term 3 already? Wow! We have been working so hard in 1S.
We have many exciting learning activities and experiences planned for this term.
Each day we engage in English and Maths activities. Our focus is on oral language skills, early reading and writing skills and early mathematical knowledge and skills.
This term, our Geography unit is ‘Features of Places’. We have begun this unit by learning to describe the weather and seasons. In week 3 we are going on an excursion to Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre to learn about how animals and people use the environment and how we can care for the environment.
During Physical Education lessons, 1S will be starting tennis lessons very soon. We also participated in the Athletics Carnival early on in Term 3.
We are currently rehearsing our Showcase performance. We are looking forward to presenting it to you all at the end of term.

Students who receive their principals award this term (10 coloured awards) will enjoy a reward from Mrs Dufficy and myself. This terms reward is a day at the end of the term where eligible students can bring their slippers, oodies, dressing gowns, pillows and /or squishmellow pillows to school for the day and watch a movie in comfort!
Please continue to read every night. Don’t forget to access the PM eCollection Online App. It is a great resource with many books that I have selected at your child’s level. This term students who read for 40 nights or more will participate in a movie and popcorn afternoon with their K-2 friends and the chance to win many great prizes such as a family pass to the Reptile Park or Bunning vouchers.
